Eastern philosophy encompasses the diverse intellectual traditions that arose in East and South Asia, spanning Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, and related schools of thought. Major currents include Confucianism, Daoism (Taoism), Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism, alongside classical Indian systems such as Nyaya, Samkhya, Vedanta, Yoga, and Mimamsa, as well as East Asian developments like Chan/Zen and Neo-Confucianism.
